Stunning album. Has to be heard.

Sadly, I believe the drummer died, having suffered with psychiatric issues for very many years. But the other two Shagg sisters occasionally still perform. There may be a fourth Shagg sister, or a cousin, who features on a couple of tracks.

The story behind The Shaggs is a doozy.

You guys should also check out Hasil Adkins ‘Poultry In Motion’ ( A best of CD) The late Hasil was a kind of prototype for Seasick Steve. Often arrested, usually drunk, the subject of many of his songs expresssed his love of eating chicken, hence the album title.
