Señor Coconut y su Conjunto: El Baile Aleman

Darren proposes this shirt style for our future Regrettable Music store.

“El Baile Aleman”––doesn’t that mean “The German Dances”? So let me get this straight, this is being marketed to GERMANS?

Yeah, those cranky Germans need to just have a few pints, loosen up, and get their groove on with Señor Coconut!

Betamacx Says:

And to think, this one is only 8 years old!

Karyn Says:

Hey, is that Annette Funicello on the xylophone? So that’s how she got her big break…

Gavin McWinner Says:

Yes it is her. You can also hear her play on Tijuana Taxi with Herb Albert. Her solos sure know how to turn Alpaca piss into gasolinera!

Emperor Norton Says:

Are you kidding? This is one of the best albums ever–a Latin cover of Kraftwerk songs. They actually turn Autobahn into a cumbia merengue. An imprint from the now defunct (and much missed) Emperor Norton label

And the costumes are totally ironic, btw.

Yoshinoya Says:

Wow, where’s the love… this is a great album.

Hunchie Says:

Uwe Schmidt is a very funny guy! The album art is tongue-in-cheek and meant to look ridiculous. Nothing regrettable about THIS album!

kraut Says:

… a german with humor and the world doesn’t get it … that’s even more funny!!
